On April 28, 2026, at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, author and anti-feminist commentator Rachel Wilson debated radio host Brian Shapiro on the motion: “Is feminism good for women and children?” Wilson took the “No” position, arguing that modern feminism has harmed women through declining happiness, rising single motherhood, child poverty, and societal breakdown. Shapiro defended feminism, crediting it with giving women more opportunities, the ability to escape abuse, and greater equality.
