Our journey through the subject of assisted suicide has come to its final chapter. There’s no question that this is coming. Western governments are leaning toward assisted suicide legislation one at a time, so it’s not a matter of yes or no, but when and how. We’ve seen over the past few months what’s wrong with existing systems like MAiD, and looked at some attitudes toward men that may increase their risk of being encouraged to die rather than recover when they’re suffering. Tonight, we’re going to look at some human rights considerations and recommendations. How can legislation to legalize assisted suicide in terminally ill patients be done in a way that protects vulnerable treatable patients from being pressured to accept euthanization instead of fighting to receive Medically Assisted Longevity Enhancement?
